I Think You Should Consult A Lawyer Well Versed In IP and Software Law Right Now

If you’re concerned about certain matters, seek legal advice.

I would advise getting legal help regarding these matters. Do not believe what they are referring to, just yet unless clarified.

A similar reference to get some clarification on the above changes, visit here to get more information.

The more they respond to questions, the faster they are losing the thread in their hands.

I believe asking the right questions matter. Getting legal help in that circumstance is a must. Instead of saying I will get help. Just go to a lawyer, well versed in IP Laws, and Software Law. The way they used that clause is sketchy beyond repair.

They do not sell our information — I get that. But don’t they already collect information from third-party cookies and analyze it to create product insights.

I mean anyone who has worked in the development background knows this. Then why lie to users, who lack technological understanding of the services.

Secondly, throwing the word “worldwide” simply made me realize the die that they rolled. Better to seek a lawyer, as soon as possible. This tramples many fundamental rights.

Thirdly, fully paid and royalty-free — I am sorry but this seemed like a joke. The quote paying peanuts doesn’t even apply here, more like paying millets. When you use someone’s content, even if you create a rule that plagiarizes it completely that is called copyright infringement.

Fourthly, If I change the language and write “Nigah” which shouldn’t be confused with the “N” word, does that mean I am racist. Although the word If I must clarify is a word of Persian and Urdu descent — that means perspective, view, or vision.

Another example could be If I say “Farsi” which means “get” in Italian. But it actually translates to Persian in English.

If I don’t clarify my language people will get more and more agitated and confused.

The terms should be simple, to read. Why add more complicated words that violate the IP Laws, and use plausible deniability towards your users when held accountable — I mean no offense yet those who don’t understand the above terms will certainly be confused. Those who do will be furious.

People don’t usually read the terms and conditions manifesto when signing up service — it is ever-changing. We practically let organizations collect information about us.

These days, if we want to use any certain app or service for that matter — it is essential that we allow them to have access to everything on our devices in simple words “permission.”

This “permission” can be translated into many scenarios, or lack thereof as the replies stated but that doesn’t mean it won’t happen or it doesn’t happen — see what I did there.

My Views

On the other hand, I am not much worried about people stealing my work. I used to be a nature photographer long ago. One day while scrolling through Instagram it was hosted as the best picture, but with a watermark of someone else. I was surprised and baffled, though I did try to find out. I was surprised to see it wasn’t the only one.

People steal, without consent shamelessly. They do other miscellaneous things without you knowing. I didn’t really care, about the photographs. I hope people one day realize the life of being a cheat. I didn’t take legal actions against those folks. To be honest, I had even forgotten I took that photo, I had just uploaded it to my local Facebook page.

This was 5 years ago. Though after that I have made it clear to people when they take things without my permission regardless of their status, size, and stature. Do it once, to remind others who you are and what you can do when somebody messes with you or your work.

Medium has expanded my reach, and it is doing so every day. If they use to reproduce my working with proper citation. I won’t have any problems even if they don’t pay me.

Remember to always ask a fundamental question,

What price am I paying for using medium? If afterward you don’t feel bad for using their service — that’s good but if you feel betrayed and lost in confusion then seek legal help outside of medium first.

See the issue in a newer light, and you will find your solutions. For me, I am not worried about any. Life’s too short, though I understand the frustration. To be honest, I am not even the least bit worried about it.

I accepted this when I signed up, I will keep moving forward as I always have. This is not really an issue for me, as I have stated before but It can become one if the situation demanded it.

For now, I would advise seeking outside help for those who need it is the best option. Instead of emailing it to support, try consulting with a law firm if your rights are being violated.

Take action first, ask questions later.

Peace. Thank you for reading.
